April Showers

April Showers—L. Silvers/B.G. De Sylva, 1921 (Recorded April 1, 2011) We woke up to April showers this morning—regular rain along with big, fluffy snowflakes—so I thought this song would be an appropriate choice. It’s closely associated with Al Jolson, as he introduced the tune in the 1921 Broadway musical, Bombo, and recorded it many times in the years thereafter.

So keep on looking for a blue bird, And list’ning for his song,
Whenever April showers come along.

Sage advice. Not much else we can do to control things, now, is there?

Dedicated to the memory of my friend, Frank Schaefer.

This is a lovely project Patsy.
Considered making it a 1000 songs?

Ahh, thanks for the return visit, Robert. You know, I’ve been wondering what I’ll do once I reach 100, and my sense is that I’ll just continue going back down to zero, and up again, et cetera. Maybe I’ll get to 1000 yet!

Cheers, friend.

HI Chris. I don’t have a tab or chord chart for this tune. I might post a page of requested charts—If I can ever get the time to do it!
