Peace—Horace Silver, 1959 (Originally recorded circa May 2007; new vocal added February 24, 2012) I’m cheating here because I first recorded this Horace Silver number around five years ago with my good friend, guitarist Rick Sowden. We laid down separate guitar and ukulele tracks and then I overdubbed my vocal. Frankly, I had forgotten about it, but I came across the digital audio file earlier today as I was rummaging around my computer folders for something else. I decided to record a new vocal track now because I was never happy with my original effort, and I figured that since I sing better now than I did then, why not give it a go? It’s a loverly tune.

Rick Sowden is a friend of and has studied with the great jazz guitarist, Larry Coryell, and Rick’s emotive and technical skills come through on this song. His monster lead during the instrumental break is especially good. I hope you enjoy it.
